Columbia Threadneedle Expands Active ETF Offerings to Europe
Columbia Threadneedle Investments is set to introduce a suite of Active Equity ETFs in Europe by the end of 2025, responding to growing client demand for products that balance risk, return, and value. The initial lineup will focus on equities, leveraging the firm’s successful US-based ETF range.
The new UCITS-compliant ETFs will cover Global, US, European, and Emerging Markets, complementing Columbia Threadneedle’s existing EMEA offerings. Chris Lo, a senior portfolio manager overseeing $15 billion in assets across 13 US-domiciled funds, will lead the strategy.
This expansion underscores institutional momentum toward innovative investment vehicles, though the announcement notably excludes direct cryptocurrency exposure—a sector increasingly intersecting with traditional finance.
